We were lucky and the rain that was predicted never came. The second crest was much lower than the first. When I watch TV and see natural disasters that threaten or damage whole towns, I'll definately perceive it differently. It's reassuring and unnerving to know that the town is shut down so the national guard can take over. Who ever would have thought that I'd be waiting to see a televised city commission meeting and watch every local newscast.
Things are back to normal but not everyone was so lucky.
By the way, we were sightseeing AFTER the flood threat was over, I promise!
