I'm not so sure it's recommended to just eat bread, cheese, and Flinstones when growing a baby, but I'm doing my best. The baby is less than 1 1/2 inches long and making me so sick. Strange but true. After seeing the hearbeat on the ultrasound, it was a good reminder it'll all be worth it (Before that, I was thinking, "What if I just have migraines and I'm not really pregnant"-phew!). I really wish I could just fast forward a couple of weeks when I'll hopefully be feeling better!

You'll never believe it, but the next morning, I woke up and I thought to myself, "I feel normal. Well, a little sick, but regular sick (which was a good thing!)." Turns out, that was the beginning of my road to feeling better and I didn't actually get sick. It must have been the Halloween candy that "cured" me! I had a great time telling people at work and brought in pickles and ice cream in to help deliver the news along with this picture, which had the caption "My mommy has a baby in her tummy!" Funny thing: I started feeling better, started eating more, and started showing almost immediatly. I'll blame that on the Halloween candy. I want to wait until after my next appointment to tell my students. Until then, they'll be wondering about the Halloween candy, too.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm now 13 weeks. My pants haven't fit very well for a couple weeks. Now some shirts aren't fitting very well. I thought I'd dip into some of the maternity stash, just in case some might fit okay. To my surprise, some of the maternity shirts not only fit, but were on the small side already. There were some that I tried on and thought, "I can't wear this. I look too pregnant." I still haven't told my students and am planning to wait until after my next appointment on December 1st. I'm not sure if I'll be able to wait that long before some of them begin to wonder. Funny that I'm trying to hide my pregnancy!
We've told Lilly that I have a baby in my tummy but she doesn't really understand. We're not reinforcing the idea because she gets a bit stuck on an idea and May is a LONG time away if you're two. For instance, last night she was supposed to be going to sleep and was instead saying, "Happy Birthday, Mama!" "Happy Valentine's day!" "Happy Mother's Day!" "Mommy, you tell me happy birthday?" "Mommy, can you tell me Happy Lilly's Day?"
I asked Lilly what she thinks is in mommy's tummy. "Bee-oh! Mommy, you like bee-oh? Daddy likes bee-oh. Tavis likes bee-oh!"
