Excerpts from the day

It felt like summer because it was such a nice day. I had the day off, and Al didn't so it really felt like summer today. I can't wait for the real thing!

Baf!

I put three strips of painters tape on the edge of the tape-just hanging there while I took a bath to try to keep her entertained before it was her turn. I got out of the tub and looked and saw l y on the tub. The other day when talking to Nonay and Grandpa she said L-i-l-l-y so I wonder... I' m not sure if this is like one of those ink blot tests, where you see what you want to see, or what? It does help that there are no curvy letters in her name! (and it follows the phonics rules AND can even be a word family--important things to consider when naming a baby) Don't worry, I won't be registering her for Kindergarten just yet!

Don't get me!

We were walking into Old Navy (yes, somewhere besides Target) and I was letting Lilly walk and talking to her that she needs to hold my hand, she needs to stay by mama, and she could get hurt from the cars if they didn't see her. She then said, "Oh, no! Don't get me, Cars!" This is what she says when she wants us to chase her. She didn't quite get the point, but I thought it was pretty cute. We'll keep working on that one!

Slide...Mo!

Lilly and I were playing at an elementary playground. A lot of the equipment was way to big for her, so I needed to help her a lot. She went down the slide a couple times with me and wanted to go on her own. She went down by herself but on the other side which was more curvy. On her way down the side, he flipped onto her stomach and started crying-more scared than anything. About a minute later, she went from full out crying to saying, "Mo!" I sent her down the other-less curvy slide and she was all smiles!"
Are you?" summer!
