Here's a sample of what I hear trying to get Lilly to bed. I almost always take her, but Al went up after she was crying today. Here's a transcript of about five minutes (minus some parts of it I couldn't quite hear).
Daddy, you were diving (She is talking about the parade. Al drove the Shriner car). Somebody throw candy at me (repeat 5 times). Somebody give me sticker. I wanna help my grandma. My grandma needs help? OK, look, Daddy, look! It's my leg! Daddy's leg. Skeeto's give me owie. I got Dora bandaid. Daddy, Look! Look my skeeto bite. I have my owies. My owies tickle me. Daddy! Look my skeeto bites. (Back to talking about the parade) There was lions there. I saw you, Daddy. Daddy! Daddy! When I wake up??? I see my grandma. My grandma's too far away. Daddy. I wanna help my grandma, Daddy. It's OK Daddy, It's OK Daddy. It's OK Daddy. Where'd my mommy go Daddy? Where'd my mommy go? I don't see her. I don't see her. Want my daddy. Just wanna come with me Daddy. I go to the lake.
We did go to the lake today and she didn't take a nap on the way out or the way back. It's 9:30 right now and you think she'd have to be tired. Sometimes it takes her an hour or more to fall asleep--that's exhausting for at least one of us!
