Potty!

I haven't been able to use the bathroom without Lilly yelling potty at me for quite a while now. She always wants toilet paper to play with and has been pretending to wipe herself. In short, she's recently been obsessed with the potty. We decided we'd get her a potty and see what happens. We took it out of the box at Target & she sat on it to try it out right in the middle of the aisle. Only problem--we had to do some trickery to get her off of the potty so she wouldn't throw a tantrum in the store. We brought the potty home & Lilly enjoyed playing potty over the weekend. We sat her on the potty with no luck quite a few times. She wants on the potty, off the potty, up on the big potty, door closed, door open, & whatever you do--don't take her out of the bathroom or she'll scream "POTTY!" like you're taking away her favorite stuffed animal. Well, I guess we don't have to worry about forcing her to sit on the potty like it says on the online sites.

Tonight, Lilly got a hold of bubble water in the bottle (her favorite beverage) and drank quite a bit. Al snuck ahead and turned on the sensor in the potty so it will play music if she was successful (we had to tun it off this weekend after she discovered the button that plays the music on the underside of the potty. The last thing we need to teach her is to flip over the potty!). I asked Lilly if she wanted to go to the potty with Daddy. Her face lit up & she went running. I heard the music from the potty and then clapping/cheering from Daddy. I went to join in the celebration just in time to see Lilly slip & fall on pee that ended up on the floor before Al swooped her up & put her potty. I guess Lilly was scared by the potty music & then fell down by the potty. They didn't say anything about that on the potty training sites. I hope she doesn't go the other direction & turn her potty obsession into a potty phobia!
